چکیده

Background: Ultrasound is a widely used tool for diagnostic and interventional purposes myriad of musculoskeletal conditions. The question about the value ultrasound-guided injection over blind debatable [1, 2]. Objectives: To test versus subacromial-subdeltoid bursitis, subcoracoid long head biceps synovial sheath, intra-articular shoulder injection. Methods: We included 168 participants (66 52 subcoracoid, 10 with tenosynovitis 38 had adhesive capsulitis performed injection) half them were injected by technique other under ultrasound guidance. All diagnosed ultrasound. methylprednisolone acetate 40 mg (Solumedrol, Pfizer) + lidocaine hydrochloride 1% (Xylocaine Astra Zeneca), 2 ml. SPADI score range motion before immediately after injection, weeks, 4 weeks. Further, complications recorded Results: mean age study group was around 35.5 years, no significant difference between two groups, slightly male predominance (60.7%). similar groups but improvement higher among compared to anatomical landmark-guided group, as showed regarding scores at weeks post-injection. Regarding motion, significantly better one all 4-week course follow up. complication rate non-significant (Table 1). highest cases Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided injections outcomes injections, especially in addition, it less than References: [1]Elsaman A, Hamed Radwan A. epidural block axial spondyloarthritis patients limited spine mobility: randomized controlled trial. Palpation Versus Ultrasound-Guided Acromioclavicular Joint Intra-articular Corticosteroid Injections: A Retrospective Comparative Clinical Study.

BACKGROUND Primary osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common cause of pain arising from the acromioclavicular (AC) joint. The true incidence is unknown because of differences in the criteria used to define arthritis in various studies. The proper diagnosis of AC joint OA requires a thorough physical examination, radiographic findings, and a diagnostic local anesthetic injection. OBJECTIVE The go...

Landmark-based versus ultrasound-guided ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric nerve blocks in the treatment of chronic postherniorrhaphy groin pain: a retrospective study

BACKGROUND Chronic postherniorrhaphy groin pain (CPGP) is a debilitating condition, which is often refractory to conservative medical management. To our knowledge, there have been no studies directly comparing landmarked-based and ultrasound-guided approaches in this population. OBJECTIVE To compare the effectiveness of landmark-based and ultrasound-guided ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric nerve b...

Ultrasound-guided sacroiliac joint injection technique.

We describe a case report and technique for using a portable ultrasound scanner and a curvilinear transducer (4-5MHz) (SonoSite Micromaxx SonoSite, Inc. 21919 30th Drive SE Bothwell W. A.) to guide sacroiliac joint (SIJ) injection. A 42-year-old male presented with chronic lower back pain centered on his left SIJ. His pain averaged 7 out of 10 (numerical rating scale). For the ultrasound-guided...

Ultrasound-guided facet joint injection to treat a spinal cyst.

Lumbar spinal cysts often present with backache and may be accompanied by lower extremity weakness as well as radiation pain if root compression occurs. The treatment regimens include anti-inflammatory drugs, physical therapy, procedures guided by fluoroscopy or computed tomography, and surgery. We report the case of a patient with a symptomatic lumbar spinal cyst at the L4-L5 facet joint. The ...
